Year 13 Film Studies - Short Films Examples

WARNING - This film is the winner of the 'Ctrl.Alt.Shift' short film competition which has a remit to produce films that fight global social injustice. It is shocking and thought provoking and as one commentator said: "This short film makes an admirable attempt at performing one of the key roles of visual media in social activism - bridging the gap between the audience and a distant reality. By changing the context of the violation the film recasts child soldiers - no longer are they 'distant others' worthy of our pity and damned to a place of violence, but precious children in need of our attention and support."

I was browsing movies last night on SKY and stumbled across 'Shorts TV' (342) - a dedicated short film channel which showcases animated shorts; film school shorts; world cinema shorts and arthouse shorts to name just a few of the categories within its schedule.
